A 48 inch high Rider Guard will surround the interior of the indoor riding arena.
This feature helps to protect the rider's knees by keeping them a safe distance from the outside wall.
Absolutely NO SMOKING anywhere on the farm property.
No RUNNING in the stables or aisle ways at any time.
Safety stirrups which allow for quick release of the rider's foot from the stirrup irons in case of a fall will be available to all students and mandatory for beginning riders.
We love dogs (our farm is named after one) but dogs running loose on the property are a risk we cannot assume, both to the dogs themselves who might be kicked and to the riders whose mount might be spooked by an "overly friendly canine". Please leave your dogs at home.
Students must wear approved safety helmets at all times when riding or working around horses and ponies. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Appropriate foot wear will be required. Students should wear sturdy paddock or Jodhpur (short) boots with heels. Whether they zip or lace is a personal preference.
Shoes that do not have heels can become wedged in the stirrup irons and cause serious accidents.
Knee high leather boots are not necessary and in fact are not appropriate for young riders.
